Hot Toys DX-12 The Dark Knight Rises
I received this today from onesixthbruce, firstly as usual from OneSixthBruce their service was impeccable, they kept me informed and always answered my emails, the packaging was immaculate, sturdy and protected the models packaging and content. Protecting the packaging? Is that really a concern? I would say yes, the boxes these model come in are almost as detailed and awesome as the actual model itself. The Dark Knight Rises box for instance is a solid piece with a book like design. Inside is a postcard size blueprint of “The Bat” attached to a foam layered card insert. Remove that and you are at the very heart of the model.
The Bruce Wayne head piece is a perfect representation of Christian Bale, even the Batman head with the PERS (Parallel Eyeball Rolling System) is immediately recognisable as Christian. Upon removing the model from the box I was instantly impressed with not only the detail of the body but also the possibility of it.
From previous experience of these models they are usually quite stiff from straight out of the box. This normally makes me feel very timid about moving it about to much and putting too much pressure on the limbs for fear of breaking them. That being said though they have all been very durable but it was a pleasure to find that I could move the DX-12 about without that worry.
The accessories that come with it are also very detailed, even the weapons that come with it (guns) have moving parts to simulate reloading them and clips for their ammo. Detail that you would never miss if it hadn't been done but they make you appreciate the model that much more. The Sonic Rifle also lights up as in the movie.
The base lights up from all corners with tiny directional spot lights. The model comes with the batteries for the rifle but not for the stand.
The model stands 30cm (12″) plus an extra inch for the stand. It is 1/6th scale.
All in all another masterpiece from Hot Toys and fantastic service from OneSixthBruce.
